Bayern Munich and Ghana legend Samuel Kuffour, who is Professional Footballers Association of Ghana, PFAG president has lauded Kaizer Chiefs‘ recent visit to the West African nation ahead of the Toyota Cup game between them and Asante Kotoko scheduled for July 26.
The Glamour boys embarked on the activation journey in Ghana, led by their legends Siyabonga Nomvethe and Stanton Fredericks. Apart from Kuffour, Anthony Baffoe – who is PFAG's General Secretary, former Motsepe Foundation Championship side Black Leopards coach Maxwell Konadu, and ex-Amakhosi assistant coach John Paintsil were also in attendance.
The former internationals are impressed with what the Soweto giants' management is doing to market the game.
‘Chiefs' presence here goes beyond football'
“The entire exercise led by Chiefs has been an invaluable learning experience for all of us involved in club football on the continent,” Kuffour told the media.
“We are honoured to welcome legends like Nomvethe and Fredericks to Ghana. Their presence here, as part of the Toyota Cup initiative, goes beyond football. It’s about building bridges across Africa through the beautiful game.
“It sets a powerful example of how we can grow stronger through collaboration, knowledge exchange, and mutual respect,” the 48-year-old former defender said.
‘We salute Kaizer Chiefs for the bold step'

Kuffour's sentiments were seconded by Baffoe, who believes Amakhosi's bold move will positively impact other teams across the continent.
“When two giants like Kaizer Chiefs and Asante Kotoko come together in this way, it sends a powerful message that African clubs can lead their own evolution.
“We salute Kaizer Chiefs for taking this bold step, and we look forward to what this can spark across the continent,” he concluded.
