In coach Nasreddine Nabi’s debut season, the Glamour Boys ended their decade-long trophy drought by securing the Nedbank Cup after beating traditional rivals Orlando Pirates in the final.
However, they disappointed in the PSL, where they finished ninth, just a position higher than the previous edition.
The Tunisian was hoping to continue as the club’s man man, but he was dismissed just six matches into the new campaign.

Following their elimination from both the Nedbank Cup and CAF Confederation Cup, Amakhosi will not be in action this weekend – February 21-22, as teams will be playing in the Round of 16.
The last two games have not gone according to the expectations of the supporters and the stakeholders. It started with a 2-1 loss against Gavin Hunt’s Stellenbosch in the Nedbank Cup Round of 32 at the DHL Stadium.
It followed up with another loss, by the same margin, against Zamalek in Egypt in Group D of the CAF inter-club competition. It means that the club will have no option but to give everything in the Premier Soccer League where they currently trail Sundowns, who have played two games more, by eight points.
The next assignment for the Glamour Boys will be on Tuesday, February 24, against Stelelnbosch at the FNB Stadium.
