Bongani Sam’s agent has responded to claims that Kaizer Chiefs have parted ways with the defender following a nightmare one-year stay at the club.
Sam signed for Chiefs before the start of last season but has not played a single minute for the Glamour Boys since joining the club.
The defender was among seven players who joined Chiefs in the off-season and while Miguel Inacio, Rushwin Dortley, Fiacre Ntwari, Bradley Cross and Gaston Sirino played a part last season, he was a spectator all the time.

According to FARPost, Chiefs have opted to cut short his stay after it became clear that the former Orlando Pirates defender was not in the plans of coach Nasreddine Nabi despite having signed a three-year contract when he joined.
What has Sam’s agent said about his Chiefs future?
However, the player’s agent Lance Davids has dismissed the reports, writing on X: “Fake news.”
That threw a spanner in the works regarding the future of the player at the club which has so far parted company with Edmilson Dove, Ranga Chivaviro, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Sabelo Radebe and Njabulo Blom, the latter returning to his parent club after his one-year loan deal.
However, while Davids insists his client is still on the books of Chiefs, transfer activities in the last few weeks have made Sam position more difficult as the club has brought in Paseka Mako and Nkanyiso Shinga to play at left-back, pushing him further down, while Thabiso Monyane can also slot in the position.
Given Bradley Cross and Adem McCarthy, who played at left-back on occasions last season, are still at the club, Sam’s position has also significantly weakened and he might be forced to look for gametime elsewhere.
