Broos elated after meeting Chiefs, Pirates and Sundowns

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has been wanting to meet Premier Soccer League coaches in a bid to improve the players for national team assignments.

It has been a struggle to get the tacticians and at some point, the Belgian publicly aired his frustrations to the PSL at large for failing to organise the same.

However, in his recent address, the veteran tactician revealed he managed to have a chat with the big three – Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns coaches. Broos concedes it was a vital meeting and they discussed how to develop the game.

The 72-year-old is convinced it will not be tough to meet the remaining teams in the near future.

“For me, what was amazing is that the meetings I have had now with the coaches is that they were happy to see me. I was happy that we could talk about football between us without any other people around us,” the Bafana Bafana coach stated.

“Second, they were not aware of the situation of why it took so long before I could speak to them. We started now to do it with Sundowns, Pirates and Chiefs but it was all in Johannesburg. There are still teams in Durban and Cape Town.

“I hope in the future I can meet all the coaches together at once. Just come together.”

Broos' Bafana will play Uganda Cranes on Friday in Group K's 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier before finishing the campaign against South Sudan.

Cranes have 10 points, two more than Bafana Bafana. Congo are third with four while the Bright Stars of South Sudan have none.
