Broos ready for Bafana Bafana without Sundowns players – Some are 30 & older, we’ve to think about future’

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos will be playing Tanzania and Mozambique in international friendly games to be played on Friday, June 6, and Tuesday, June 10, at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane and Loftus Versfeld Stadium, respectively.

However, he will have to do without the services of Mamelodi Sundowns players who were excused owing to many club engagements. The Premier Soccer League champions are among the 32 teams that will be competing for the Club World Cup crown in a tournament that will be played in the United States from June 14 to July 13.

Broos has now stated what he is expecting from the other players, after failing to get the Masandawana regulars. He has further explained what he is anticipating from Taifa Stars and Os Mambas.

It is interesting to see other players from other teams

“I know that the presence of Sundowns players in the national team has always been important. Why? because those are players who're very experienced at the higher level, so they helped us a lot in the past, but as you know that I am not a coach who always looks only at the top teams [when it comes to player selection]. I always look at other teams as well,” the Belgian said in a pre match interview.

“Some of the Sundowns players are now 30 and older, so we also have to think about the future. We will do it without Sundowns players. Let's hope that we can find some other players too, because having too many players from one club is not good; therefore, it's very interesting for me to see other players from other teams in these friendly games.

:Mozambique are even in a good position to qualify for the World Cup, so that means they'll be good opponents. It's a good opportunity for everyone to prove themselves, to show their qualities, because they have qualities; otherwise, they wouldn't be here,” Broos concluded.
