Kaizer Chiefs defender Inacio Miguel insists he will always take cards to save the team since his main job is to ensure the Glamour Boys get positive results consistently.
Since joining Amakhosi from Petro de Luanda, the Angola international has played 22 games across all competitions. He has been slapped with six yellow cards and a red card already which has seen him miss some crucial games.
Coach Nasreddine was even concerned with the bulky defender, and promised to talk with him in a bid to get a solution. However, the 29-year-old has revealed he stood his ground, insisting he just can't change his style when turning out for Amakhosi since it will benefit the team, in the long run.

He argues his main job is to work harder to ensure the Soweto giants don't concede, and that they remain consistent.
‘I need to have that timing' – Miguel
“Consistency should be what defines us; we are really eager to maintain consistency because the difference between big teams and regular teams is consistency. If we can be consistent, we can go far. Consistency would also mean that we're growing in our process of rebuilding,” Miguel stated.
“I had a meeting with coach Nabi, he told me to calculate my tackles but I told him ‘Listen, I don't have a problem taking yellow cards or a red card if it's for the team'. I will keep doing it but now as a team, we are doing better than we were doing at the start of the season and that means I am not that exposed.

“I will always do everything to help the team avoid conceding. I told coach Nabi, ‘If you don't want me to get yellow cards, don't put me on the team'. I don't mind if the supporters say ‘Ai! Miguel gets a lot of yellow cards' it doesn't matter if the team is winning. Of course, I need to have that timing as I am also still learning and new in the league,” Miguel concluded.
The defender is expected to be in the starting team on Tuesday as Chiefs host Cape Town City in the Premier Soccer League game to be staged at the FNB Stadium.
