Four South African teams will be playing inter-club championship in the 2025/26 season.

By virtue of winning the Premier Soccer League, Mamelodi Sundowns have another chance of chasing continental glory after reaching the CAF Champions League final last season, but lost to Pyramids.

The Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates, reached the last season before falling to the eventual champions. They finished second in the PSL to get a ticket for the 2025/26 CAF Champions League edition.

In the CAF Confederation Cup, defending Nedbank Cup champions Kaizer Chiefs will be representing South Africa alongside last season's semi-finalists Stellenbosch, who finished third on the PSL table.

Who will Mamelodi Sundowns and Pirates play in the CAF Champions League?

Masandawana have been reaching the latter stages of the competition for the last few years, and will hope to go all the way in the 2025/26 edition.

Coach Miguel Cardoso's men will not take part in the first preliminary round, but in the second one, they will rub shoulders with either US Zilimadjou of Comoros or Nigeria's Remo Stars.

However, Abdeslam Ouaddou's Bucs will have to beat the Lesotho outfit Lioli FC to set a date with either El Merreikh or a yet-to-be-confirmed DRC side.

Who will Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch play in the CAF Confederation Cup?

Upon their return to continental football, the Glamour Boys' first test will be in the initial preliminary round against Angolan outfit Kaburscop Palanka. A win will guarantee them passage to the second hurdle, where they will play either a yet-to-be-confirmed team from the Democratic Republic of Congo or Djabal FC from Comoros.

Stellenbosch have been exempted from the initial hurdle; in the second preliminary round, they will play either Agosto from Equatorial Guinea or Seychelles' Foresters FC.

When are the dates for CAF CL & CAF CC

The dates for the first preliminary round of both competitions have been scheduled for September  19 and 29, while the second preliminary round matches will be played on October 17 and 26.
