The Citizens have decided to reward their supporters with free football
Cape Town City have announced free entry into eight of their home league games this season in what will be a major treat for their fans.
The Citizens, in partnership with the City of Cape Town, have waived entry charges to the 10,000-seater Athlone Stadium, starting with Saturday’s PSL fixture against SuperSport United.
“Cape Town City Football Club, in partnership with the City of Cape Town, is happy to announce an exciting #FreeFootballForAll initiative offering FREE access to our 8 home league games at Athlone Stadium, with 10,000 seats available for each match,” the club announced.
“We are committed to breaking down barriers so that everyone in our community can enjoy the sport that we all love, without the worry of cost. Football has the power to unite people, and this is our way of giving back to our amazing fans in Cape Town, making the beautiful game accessible to all.”
Which other fixtures are available for free?
Other matches that will be played at the stadium that fans will watch for free are Cape Town’s clash against Magesi FC, Polokwane City, Richards Bay, Golden Arrows, Chippa United TS Galaxy and Marumo Gallants.
However, matches against Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns will be played at DHL Stadium where fans will pay to gain entry.
Cape Town City started the season with a 1-1 draw away to Royal AM and will take on Stellenbosch on Wednesday before hosting SuperSport in their first home match of the campaign on Saturday.
