Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso has credited the brotherhood and togetherness at the club for their latest win which leaves them one win away from winning the PSL title.
Sundowns thrashed Chippa United 3-0 on Wednesday to regain their 12-point lead over second-placed Orlando Pirates with the PSL champions now having one hand on the trophy as they need three more points from as many games to be crowned for an eighth successive season.
Cardoso had made several changes to his squad, with a number of his big hitters rested, but those called upon still put on an impressive display to the delight of the Portuguese coach.
What has impressed Cardoso most?

“Yeah, today we spoke about brotherhood, and we spoke a lot about what’s written on our shirts, what is Ubuntu indeed. And those values that we have in the locker room are the ones that sustain us,” Cardoso told SuperSport TV after the match.
“And then that comes from the heart, comes from the mind and this passes to football inside the pitch.
“I’m happy for the boys. I’m happy they are very ambitious, and happy that we built a strong family, because we are a very strong family where even the ones that are outside, they feel that spirit. We depend on all of them.
Sundowns set new PSL record

“We trust on the board. We trust on the club, and most of all, we have wonderful group of players that was built by our sports director, Mr. Flemming [Berg], with the support of the club and the President and the chairman, of course.”
Sundowns’ win was also monumental in a different way as they scored their 57th league goal of the season, setting a new record for goals scored in a single campaign, breaking their own mark of 56 set last season.
The Brazilians have reached 57 goals from 25 matches and have a chance to extend it even further in their remaining three games.
