Mamelodi Sundowns' coach, Miguel Cardoso, has delivered an unfortunate update on the fitness of Themba Zwane.
The creative midfielder, who had only just recovered from a thigh injury, sustained another injury during Sundowns' recent 3-0 win over Magesi in the Betway Premiership.
Zwane, who was brought on in the second half, couldn't finish the game, walking off the pitch in the dying moments.
Cardoso stated that Zwane has suffered a muscle injury and is expected to be sidelined for over a month. This news comes as a major blow to the team, who were counting on his return to full fitness.
The club will now face the challenge of competing without their key playmaker for an extended period, which could impact their performance in upcoming league and cup fixtures.

ZWANE OUT FOR MORE THAN A MONTH
“Themba Zwane has a muscle injury, grade two which will take him out of a team for a period of little bit more than a month, around the month,” said Cardoso.
“Let’s see, it depends on how he can react to the treatment that he is going to receive. But obviously, he will be a player that we will have to protect in terms of his return to train and play.
“So, let’s go easy so that we can prepare him for the future because he is still an important player for us.”
