With the PSL transfer window shutting down on Monday evening, Mamelodi Sundowns are poised for a frantic finish.
After their 3-1 victory over Durban City, coach Miguel Cardoso told reporters that the club is determined to add more talent to the team before the deadline.
Despite a quiet transfer period, the Brazilians have made some strategic moves. They secured Fawaaz Basadien from Stellenbosch FC to reinforce their defense and brought in midfielder Tsiki Ntsabeleng on a loan from FC Dallas.
While they also signed Jody Ah Shene from Cape Town City, the young player is set to be loaned out to AmaTuks for development.
The most exciting development is the anticipated arrival of Nuno Santos. Sources indicate that Sundowns and his current club, Vitória Guimarães SC, have reached a full agreement for the Portuguese midfielder, who has also agreed to personal terms. This signing is expected to be finalized just in time for the deadline.
They are also set to sign Portuguese midfielder Miguel Reisinho on a free transfer.
’THE TEAM WILL BE REINFORCED’
“The market is still open and we believe that the team will be reinforced,” said Cardoso.
“We are seriously, together us coaches, sporting director and the board of the club, looking to eventually reinforce the team.”
