Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the arrival of several players in their bid to have a stronger squad ahead of the 2025/26 Premier Soccer League campaign.
So far, the Glamour Boys have confirmed the arrival of Ethan Chislett from Port Vale, Nkanyiso Shinga who came from FC Alverca, Flavio Silva (Persebaya Surabaya), and the ex-Orlando Pirates duo of Thabiso Monyane and Paseka Mako.
However, from the look of things, coach Nasreddine Nabi and Amakhosi management are not done bringing in new faces. Asanele Velebayi and Etiosa Ighodaro are on their way to Naturena with official announcements set to be done in the next couple of days.
Football legend Mlungisi Ngubane has lauded the Soweto giants for snapping Monyane and Mako, before asking them to go for Peter Shalulile and Percy Tau.
The five players can make an impact at Chiefs
“The only concern with Mako and Monyane is their history of injuries, which affected their playing time at Pirates. However, they are strong signings and are players suited for a big club. I admire their bravery, they are not like the players Chiefs have been signing recently,” he told KickOff.
“If the five players Chiefs signed this week can gel well with the current squad, they will make a significant impact. Those who are committed to winning are the ones who represent Pirates. That is the mentality the two players are bringing to Kaizer Chiefs.
“If Chiefs can sign Shalulile, he would provide them with a strong season and help restore the team's dignity. Just imagine if they could also add Tau to the mix. But they must also remember to secure a goalkeeper who can turn games in their favour. Every team needs one,” Ngubane concluded.
Coach Nasreddine Nabi will have a glance at the new signings in the next couple when the Glamour Boys play the pre-season games in the Netherlands.
