Kaizer Chiefs legend Robson Muchichwa has issued a crucial warning to head coach Nasreddine Nabi about a mistake he must avoid next season.
Nabi, who arrived at the start of the current season, experienced an inconsistent debut campaign with the Glamour Boys.
Despite ending the club's decade-long trophy drought by winning the Nedbank Cup against Orlando Pirates, Chiefs surprisingly finished outside the top eight, missing out on an MTN8 spot.
As Nabi aims to restore Chiefs' glory days at Naturena, Muchichwa has advised him to firmly resist any interference, whether from club management or external parties.
‘NABI NEEDS TO BE STRONG’
“Coach Nabi needs to be strong. If you hire a coach only to control them, then you aren’t going to make progress as a club,” Robson Muchichwa told KickOff.com.

“You should always seek a coach who cannot easily be controlled. They must allow Nabi the opportunity to implement his vision. If he fails, we will all acknowledge that failure.
“Let’s not forget that while Nabi won a cup, he also finished outside the top eight, and Kaizer Chiefs is a top-eight club. He needs to come up with fresh ideas to keep the dressing room motivated.
“He must not let anyone dictate his team or his style of play. If someone is controlling you, it’s likely because you're not doing something right.
“Nabi should stay true to his strengths and not change what made him successful just to appease someone else. He must adhere to his beliefs. If he gets fired, it should be for following his own football philosophy, not due to outside influences.”
