Premier Soccer League heavyweights Kaizer Chiefs had a mixed 2024/25 season across all competitions.
The Soweto giants brought in the Tunisian tactician to help them get back to their rightful place in South African football after finishing 10th in the 2023/24 campaign, their worst-ever conclusion in the South African top-flight division.

Nabi's first responsibility was to help the team deliver in the Carling Knockout after failing to qualify for the annual MTN8, which usually involves teams that had finished in the top half of the table in the previous season.
However, they were undone by eventual finalists Mamelodi Sundowns in the quarter-final where they lost 4-0 to crash out.
However, they did well in the Nedbank Cup, beating the same opponent in the semi-final before setting up a Soweto Derby final against traditional rivals Orlando Pirates. Amakhosi won 2-1 to win their first ever silverware in a decade.

However it got worse in the Premier Soccer League where Amakhosi completely failed to get the consistency needed to get the top positions.
In the 28 games played, the Glamour Boys won just eight games, drew as many and registered 12 losses. As a result, they finished ninth on the table with 32 points, meaning they will not play in the MTN8 next season.
However, by virtue of winning the Nedbank Cup, they will represent Mzansi in the Caf Confederation Cup alongside Stellenbosch, who finished third on the PSL table.
