Bafana Bafana international who has also been linked with a move to either Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates, Fawaaz Basadien, was the biggest winner on Tuesday night as Stellenbosch held their annual Awards Gala.

Stellies rewarded individuals who were outstanding as the team made history by reaching the Caf Confederation Cup semi-final in their debut.

Ibraheem Jabaar

“Former Nigeria youth international Ibraheem Jabaar won the Oshwin Andries Young Player of the Season award.

“The 22-year-old played a stellar role in Stellies’ midfield during the 2024-25 term to earn the trophy for the second time, having previously claimed it as a 19-year-old back in 2022,” the club confirmed on their website.

“Stephens was also on the winners’ roll after taking to the stage to collect the Sportsman of the Year award in recognition of his exemplary leadership and contribution to the growth of the club’s brand,” they continued.

“Stephens, also of Bafana Bafana ilk, notably captained Stellies to the semi-final of the CAF Confederation Cup in what was the club’s first-ever season competing on the African continent.”

“Titus added to his collection of SFC awards, which include previous years’ Players’ Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season titles, by firing his way to the Golden Boot award with 13 goals across all competitions for the campaign.

“The 24-year-old also chipped in with seven assists to take his tally to 20 goal contributions and, like the aforementioned Basadien, also made his Bafana Bafana debut earlier in the season,” Stellies added.

Sihle Nduli

“Nduli emerged as the fan favourite after he became the second-ever recipient of the RAMA Fans Player of the Season, winning the award with more than a quarter of the overall votes.

“Nduli, alongside Basadien, Sage Stephens, Ibraheem Jabaar, and Devin Titus, all also earned special achievement awards on the night in recognition of them becoming the latest members of the Stellenbosch FC 100-club.”

Fawaaz Basadien

“Basadien walked away as the night’s biggest winner after taking home the coveted Stellenbosch FC Footballer of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season accolades.

“This followed an incredible year for the Bafana Bafana international in which he contributed 15 goals to the team’s cause, scoring seven and assisting eight more from left-back,” they concluded.
