Kaizer Chiefs beat AS Simba 3-1 last weekend to seal their CAF Confederation Cup group stage ticket.
The Glamour Boys scored their goals in the first half through Etiosa Ighodaro, Zitha Kwinka, and Glody Lilepo, while Aden McCarthy, unfortunately, turned the ball into his own net to give the Democratic Republic of Congo outfit what turned out to be a mere consolation.

However, Amakhosi paid the price as versatile winger Lilepo suffered a knock that saw him get subbed after the first half. Pule Mmodi took his place to help the team see off their visitors and eventually advance.
Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze has since revealed the extent of the injury suffered by the lanky attacker.
One or two days out?
“We will have to discuss with the doctors tomorrow, but it was a knock, which I think that he shouldn’t be very bad, because if it were a muscular injury, that would be another issue,” he opened up to the media.
“But I think it’s a knock, probably one or two days ice. I think he should be ready to go on Friday against Durban City,” Kaze concluded.
Despite their good run in the CAF Confederation Cup, Chiefs have not won any of their last six domestic games across all competitions. Five of those outings have been in the Premier Soccer League.
On Friday, they are playing against Gavin Hunt's Durban City, who have four wins, three draws, and as many losses. As a result, they are currently fifth on the table with 15 points, one less than fourth-placed Amakhosi, who have managed 16 points from the nine games played.
