Chiefs Transfer News: Contact from Saudi Arabia on talented attacker confirmed

Kaizer Chiefs youngster Wandile Duba has been facing tough times at Kaizer Chiefs where he is struggling for game time.

The Amakhosi graduate has insisted he loves playing as the club's main striker as opposed to playing trade from the wings. However, the signing of Etiosa Ighodaro, Khanyisa Mayo and Flavio da Silva have seen his game-time limited.

So far, the 21-year-old has played just eight matches, most of which have been from the bench, as the technical team prefers the other forwards.

This is in contrast to last season, where Duba was the main man at Amakhosi, playing a total of 25 games, scoring five goals with three assists across all competitions.

Duba on his way out of Chiefs?

In the last couple of months, the versatile attacker has been heavily linked with a move away from Amakhosi, with several clubs abroad linked with his services.

His agent Mike Makaab has responded to reports the striker, who is yet to score this season, will be joining an unnamed club in the Middle East. “Yes, there was interest in Wandile Duba from Saudi Arabia, but the move didn’t materialise as the player is still with Kaizer Chiefs,” Makaab said in his interview with FARPost.

Well, it seems, currently, that Mayo is the preferred striker to lead the attacking department at the club, but Silva's recent showings might make the co-coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Yossef change their mind. Former Sundowns striker Ighodaro is also knocking hard on the first team's door.
