Kaizer Chiefs struggles were extended to the new year after Sunday's 1-0 loss against Cape Town City in the Premier Soccer League outing.
The defeat basically means the Glamour Boys have won four matches, drawn three, and lost four from the 11 South African top-flight engagements. They are now on 15 points, half the number of points defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns – who are at the summit, have collected.
The January transfer window was opened on the 1st, giving teams a chance to strengthen their squads. The Soweto giants are among the teams expected to bring in new faces to bolster their weak areas.
Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Benedict ‘Tso' Vilakazi has advised the Chiefs technical team on players they should consider signing.

“At least [goalkeeper Elvis] Chipezeze would save the team,” he told iDiski TV in his latest interview.
“I mean we saw him saving there at Magesi several times so he can do the very same thing at Chiefs. He’d need a good solid defense.
“I wouldn’t want to take all of Steve Barker’s players because he’s got quality players. But [Ismael] Traore will do, then in midfield have [Sihle] Nduli and [Jayden] Adams and in attack he can get someone when the season ends.
“I’m sorry to coach Steve Barker, I like him a lot, he’s got good players but a big team like Kaizer Chiefs they must go there and get players, get their spinal cord strong and get a goalkeeper, someone like Chipezeze.”
Chiefs are in action on Wednesday in the Premier Soccer League against Stellenbosch.
