Kaizer Chiefs have been struggling to find a striker who can convert the many chances created in matches.
They signed Flavio Silva from Indonesian top-tier outfit Persebaya Surabaya to replace Ranga Chivaviro who had failed to deliver in the two seasons he was at the club.
However, the 29-year-old towering striker has, however, struggled to deliver especially in the pre-season where he scored one goal in the seven games that he played.
Coach Nasreddine Nabi and Kaizer Chiefs have been looking for another striker to help Silva in the 2025/26 season where the Soweto giants will also be competing in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Amakhosi confirm Ighodaro signing
The Glamour Boys have added 24-year-old Nigerian striker Etiosa Ighodaro to their squad.
“Kaizer Chiefs have acquired the services of another striker, Etiosa Ighodaro,” the Glamour Boys confirmed.
“The 24-year-old Nigerian arrived in South Africa in July 2021 and has played for several PSL outfits, scoring a total of 25 goals in 97 appearances. He spent last season on loan with AmaZulu FC.
“The forward will wear jersey number #50 in Amakhosi colours,” they concluded.
Club's Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr. is optimistic the forward will deliver for Amakhosi.
