Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Mduduzi Mdantsane has been heavily linked with a move to Cape Town City after struggling for game time at Amakhosi.

The midfielder joined the Glamour Boys from Cape Town City at the beginning of the 2023/24 campaign. he went on to play 16 games for the Soweto giants across all competitions and managed to get two assists.

However, things have not been so good for him in the ongoing campaign. The 30-year-old is yet to make an appearance for Chiefs, under coach Nasreddine Nabi who took over at the beginning of the ongoing campaign.

“There are negotiations on the progress. It's not a done deal yet but there could be a deal in January whereby Mdu (Mdantsane) goes to Cape Town City. It's all about game time for the player and as for City it's about strengthening their squad as they want to fight for a better position in the league mainly in the second round and they feel the experience of Mdantsane can help them,” SNL24 reported.

“Those are the few issues that they are supposed to look at. You know he still has a contract until June 2026 so that's what they also have to look at whether they will just need him for this second half of the season or if they would want to keep him further after this season and that means buying him permanently from Chiefs. They have to finalize those details soon.”

However, the club's chairman John Comitis has denied the rumours, “That's not true,” he responded.

City are under interim coach Muhsin Ertugral after Eric Tinkler's firing a couple of days ago.
