The day's opening match featured Cape Town City dominating Marumo Gallants with a decisive 6-1 victory at Malta Park. Shakeel April and Jody Ah Shene each scored two goals, complemented by a strike from Cee-Jay Bezuidenhout, while Gallants contributed an own goal.
This victory marks the Citizens' second consecutive win, following their 3-1 triumph over Stellenbosch FC in their previous match. They currently lead the league standings with 10 points after four matches.
Gallants, who recently acquired their status from Moroka Swallows, have now suffered four straight defeats, indicating their struggle to adjust to the reserve league.
