The day's opening match featured Cape Town City dominating Marumo Gallants with a decisive 6-1 victory at Malta Park. Shakeel April and Jody Ah Shene each scored two goals, complemented by a strike from Cee-Jay Bezuidenhout, while Gallants contributed an own goal.
This victory marks the Citizens' second consecutive win, following their 3-1 triumph over Stellenbosch FC in their previous match. They currently lead the league standings with 10 points after four matches.
Gallants, who recently acquired their status from Moroka Swallows, have now suffered four straight defeats, indicating their struggle to adjust to the reserve league.

SuperSport halted the winning streak of the Phefeni Glamour Boys by securing a narrow 1-0 victory at Lucas Moripe Stadium. Keenan Bezuidenhout scored the sole goal of the encounter, earning three points for the Tshwane-based team.
Entering this match, Amakhosi had achieved victories in their first three games, while this marked the first win for Matsatsantsa, who had drawn their initial three matches. Currently, Chiefs occupy the second position in the standings, whereas United are in seventh place.
In another development, Sundowns suffered their second consecutive defeat, losing 2-1 to the reigning champions, Stellenbosch FC, at Stade de Martyrs.
