Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Cedric Kaze has opened up about the future of the current coaching staff at the club.
Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef have been in charge at Naturena following the departure of their boss Nasreddine Nabi, who agreed to part ways with the club last month, although his official departure is yet to be confirmed. Goalkeeper trainer Ilyes Mzoughi and Majdi Safi (conditioning coach) are also part of the technical bench.
That has thrust his understudies in the spotlight and they have not made the most of it so far. Since Nabi left, Chiefs have played five matches but won just one.
How have Kaze and Ben Youssef performed?

They started with a 1-0 loss away to Kabuscorp in the CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round, drew 1-1 with Marumo Gallants, before beating the Angolan club 1-0 to sail to the second round after winning post-match penalties.
Chiefs would draw 1-1 with AmaZulu last week before their elimination from the Carling Knockout at the Round of 16 by Stellenbosch FC on post-match penalties.
The manner in which they lost to Stellies also raised questions, especially after goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari refused to be substituted late in the game, and there is a feeling that the players do not respect the men in the dugout.

Asked whether they have a future at Naturena, Kaze was cagey in his response which suggests they are walking on shaky ground.
“I believe that’s a question that should be directed to the management and from this time we are the coaches of Kaizer Chiefs and until further notice or [until] something else decided by the management, I’m pretty sure they will let everyone know,” Kaze told the media as per iDiski Times.
It remains to be seen if Chiefs will effect a change during the two-week international break as results have not been impressive under the assistant coaches.
Amakhosi have a tricky match coming up as they play away to DR Congo’s AS Simba in the Confederation Cup second preliminary round on October 18.
