Orlando Pirates overcame the DStv Diski Challenge Champions Stellenbosch FC on Sunday morning while TS Galaxy downed Chippa United.
Ezimnyama Ngenkani bounced back from 1-0 down to win the match 2-1, handing Stellenbosch FC their second loss this season having lost their first match of the season against Cape Town City in September.
Quwan Plaatjies scored the opener for Stellies in the early stages of the second half before Mehluleli Maphumulo emerged a hero for the Sea Robbers bagging a brace to steal three points on the road.
In spite of losing the match, Stellenbosch remain at the summit of the league standings having accumulated 20 points from 10 matches so far.
Meanwhile, the Buccaneers occupy fifth place with 18 points collected from ten matches.
Additionally, the other matches that took place on Sunday saw Polokwane City secure maximum points through a convincing 3-1 victory over Marumo Gallants at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Meanwhile, Bernard Parker’s TS Galaxy also achieved a 2-1 victory against Chippa United at the Isak Steyl Stadium.
