Dylan Kerr breaks silence on sudden Marumo Gallants exit

Dylan Kerr has spoken out, revealing what led to his sudden departure from Marumo Gallants just after reuniting with the club earlier this month.

The news broke yesterday that Kerr had left Bahlabane Ba Ntwa, with reports claiming that he tendered his resignation.

He left the Free State club just three weeks after being appointed head coach.

It is understood Maltese-born English coach was unwilling to accept the club's proposed co-coaching system

After a meeting with club president Abram Sello on Monday, where the club's plans for the upcoming season were discussed, Kerr decided the proposed direction was not aligned with his own.

DYLAN KERR ON WHAT LEFT TO HIS SUDDEN DEPARTURE FROM MARUMO GALLANTS

“Look, the chairman knows who I am and knows what I can do, sorry… the president. When he asked me to come back because we were talking for a couple of weeks before he purchased Swallows and that was it really,” said Kerr said during the interview with Sports Night Amplified with Andile on Metro FM.

“I said, ‘yeah, we have to do things right because you've invested a lot of money in this'. A three-year contract… we never discussed a contract. I never saw a contract, and like I said, yesterday we had a meeting.

“And I didn't feel it was the right move for me to go in the direction that they wanted and when he sent me a message last night, we had a good chat and I said, ‘chairman, I think we just need to go our ways separately. And that was it.

“It was a verbal agreement when I came, obviously the contract never materialised. But it is what it is. I said I don't want to speak about anything because it's between me and my chairman.”

Gallants have since roped in Dan Malesela as the new head coach.
