Established striker sends Nabi a get me plea – Who can say no to Chiefs?

The 34-year-old forward believes he still has what it takes to play in South Africa’s top flight football.

Kaizer Chiefs are desperate to bolster their attacking department which has recently struggled to deliver.

In the 2023/24 Premier Soccer League season, both Christian Saile and Ranga Chivaviro scored four goals each, which is unimpressive by all standards. After finishing 10th in the league, coach Nasreddine Nabi was appointed to help turn the club's fortunes around.

Chiefs have so far signed four players – Fiacre Ntwari, Bongani Sam, Rushwin Dortley, and Gaston Sirino, but have not brought in a striker.

Striker offers himself to Chiefs

Former Bafana Bafana international Dino Ndlovu believes he can offer a solution to the team's attacking problem.

“Who would say no to Chiefs? There is no player in the country who can say no, even if that player is a fan of Mamelodi Sundowns or Orlando Pirates,” the 34-year-old told SNL24.

“We first followed Sundowns when they started dominating. When did they win the Caf Champions League? [2016]. So, around 2015, that’s when we started following them, but before that, it was Pirates, Chiefs, and SuperSport United, you understand?

“In fact, leave SuperSport out, it was Pirates and Chiefs. Everyone in the country is either a fan of Pirates or Chiefs. You can ask any player. Even ‘Mshishi’ [Themba Zwane], before he joined Sundowns, would have been open to joining Chiefs because of that reason,” Ndlovu concluded.

What has Ndlovu achieved?

Last season, the experienced striker played 15 Turkish 1.Lig games and managed to score nine goals and provide an assist.

He has initially played for PSL teams like SuperSport United, Mamelodi Sundowns, Cape Town City and Bloemfontein Celtic.

Ndlovu has played for many teams abroad including Qarabag, Maccabi Haifa, Sakaryaspor among others.

The forward has so far won the Azerbaijan Premier League and Cup. He also won a domestic competition while in Israel. In South Africa, Ndlovu is a League Cup winner.
