Orlando Pirates have been warned by former Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt that it will not be easy playing Stellenbosch on Tuesday in the Premier Soccer League outing.
The Buccaneers will make a trip to Cape Town to play the Maroons at the Athlone Stadium, hoping for nothing but maximum points. Currently, the Sea Robbers are on 59 points from 26 games, while leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who have played 27 games, have collected 64 points.
Stellenbosch are hopeful of a top-eight finish, which will grant them an MTN8 ticket for the new campaign. Currently, Stellies are on 32 points, which places them 10th on the table, three points outside the top half in the Mzansi top-flight football.
Hunt has explained how the loss to Polokwane affected him, before insisting they haven’t given up.
Stellies are still fighting
“We were very disappointed that we lost last week [against Polokwane City] because we shouldn’t have lost or have even drawn that game,” the ex-Amakhosi tactician recalled.

“So, that was disappointing because we could’ve come into this match in a much better situation.
“But, we’re still fighting for the top eight, and we have a chance of achieving that. We have to try. We’ve got four games left, and we’ll probably have to win three of those.”
Hunt to dim Pirates’ PSL dream?
“The weather does affect our approach, because obviously it’s a very different game playing in the rain,” Hunt continued.

“The pitch is much heavier and slower, which will hopefully suit us more, because they are one of the best sides in the country in terms of the speed with which they play.
“They create much more chances than other teams in the league, and that’s something we certainly need to be aware of, but it does change a lot in terms of how you approach the game,” he concluded.
