Fabian McCarthy’s advice to Son, Chiefs DDC star Aden

Kaizer Chiefs legend Fabian McCarthy has shared some valuable advice with his son, Aden McCarthy, who is currently making waves in the Amakhosi DStv Diski Challenge side.

Aden has been a consistent performer for the Chiefs reserves, showcasing his talent in the junior ranks.

Despite signing a professional contract with the senior team, he has been temporarily sent back to the Diski Challenge to gain more experience.

Recognizing the immense pressure associated with playing for a club like Kaizer Chiefs, Fabian emphasized the importance of managing social media and listening to trusted advice.

He advised his son to focus on the support of his family and genuine fans, rather than being swayed by public opinion.

WHAT FABIAN MCCARTHY SAID TO HIS SON ADEN

“it’s very, very different. I mean our time, there was no Instagram, there was no Twitter, none of all that, I think, just that BBM thing, WhatsApp thingies was just starting,” said McCarthy in an interview with iDiski Times.

“But it was basically your phone, or you sent a fax! Now there’s so many platforms, but it’s how the players are handling it, how they put themselves into that space.

“It’s good to have 1 million followers, but how many of those 1 million followers are your real fans?

“So I’m saying especially, you mentioned Aden, I said, ‘Listen, there’s one thing you must know in this game, it’s family, it’s your true friends’. And then there’s some of the fans that will give you stick, it’s how you are going to handle it!”
