FC Twente vs Kaizer Chiefs preview – Date, time news, time, venue

Published on by

Kaizer Chiefs are preparing to hit the pitch once more, with their sights firmly set on achieving a second win in their ongoing pre-season camp in the Netherlands.

Their next formidable opponent will be FC Twente. The initial phase of Amakhosi's European stint was a tough baptism, as they suffered three straight defeats against well-established Dutch teams: Vitesse, Utrecht, and Nijmegen.

Nevertheless, the team showcased their resilience and fighting spirit on Tuesday, finally breaking their losing streak with a hard-earned 1-0 victory over PEC Zwolle.

Naledi Hlongwane's well-placed strike sealed the crucial win, providing a much-needed morale boost and setting the stage for Chiefs to push for another positive result against Twente.

Twente’s clash will be Amakhosi’s last one during their camp in the Netherlands as they are set to return to South Africa to continue preparations for the upcoming 2025/26 season.

TEAM NEWS

There's some concern around the Chiefs camp as centre-forward Flavio Silva was substituted during Tuesday's match against PEC Zwolle after appearing to pick up a knock. His availability for the upcoming game remains uncertain.

Adding to the injury woes, Paseka Mako and Rushwin Dortley are still sidelined, continuing to nurse their respective injuries, which means they're definitely out of contention.

The recent absence of Given Msimango also casts doubt on whether he'll be fit enough to feature in the squad for the next match.

RESULTS

  • Vitesse 2-1 Chiefs
  • Utrecht 4-0 Chiefs
  • Nijmegen 1-0 Chiefs
