The South African youngster fired in an unstoppable shot to equalise for his Belgian side

South African teen sensation Shandre Campbell opened his goal account for his new Belgian club in spectacular style when he smashed the ball in the top corner via a left-footed stunner.

The former SuperSport United star was introduced with 18 minutes left when Club NXT were trailing 2-1 against Patro Eisden in the Belgium second division, popularly known as Challenger Pro League, and he wasted no time to make his presence felt.

How did Shandre open his account?

Campbell latched onto a loose ball just outside the box, controlled it, before firing an unstoppable shot on his left foot into the top corner, giving the goalkeeper no chance.

The match would end a 2-2 draw following Campbell’s equaliser, the South African forward making his mark in a major way, a statement that will perhaps earn him a starting place in the team after warming the bench in their opening two matches.

Campbell left SuperSport for Belgium in July to join top-tier side Club Brugge after his impressive showings in the PSL and the club opted to start him in their second-string side as he continues his development.

Campbell will be hoping for a start

In his debut top flight campaign for Matsatsantsa, the 18-year-old played 24 matches across all competitions, scoring five goals and providing six assists in the process, attracting interest from European sides before Club Brugge swoped for him.

Club NXT will face RFC Seraing in their next match on September 13 when Campbell will hope to earn his place in the starting XI.
