Frosler’s Chiefs future decided, what next for the defender?

Published on by

Reeve Frosler has been one of Kaizer Chiefs‘ consistent performers since joining from the now-defunct Bidvest Wits in January 2019.

He was signed by coach Ernst Middendorp and has since been a key player under Gavin Hunt, Stuart Baxter, Arthur Zwane, Molefi Ntseki, Cavin Johnon, and now Nasreddine Nabi. However, his contract with the Soweto giants is set to conclude at the end of the ongoing 2024/25 season.

The 27-year-old has always wanted to remain at Naturena since he feels it provides a perfect environment for him to deliver effectively. According to SABC Sport, the two parties have agreed to extend their association beyond this season.

Frosler has agreed a deal in principle with Amakhosi, meaning soon everything will be formalised as coach Nasreddine Nabi continues to work on rebuilding his squad.

‘I still have a lot to give Chiefs'

“I wouldd love to be here, I mean, Kaizer Chiefs, who wouldn't want to be at a club like this? It's a club I've spent a lot of time at and learnt a lot of things,” the versatile right-back had initially confirmed.

“So I think I've still a lot to give to the club, but that decision does not only lie with me, I've got to do my part for the next few months.”

Another player who is almost out of contract is Mozambique international Edmilson Dove, who, at the beginning of the season, extended it for a year. The club has already added midfielder Edson Castillo a year to his current deal.

Just like the other players, Frosler has to give his best and help the Glamour Boys get back to their best in South African football.
