SuperSport United goalkeeper Ricardo Goss believes Bafana Bafana captain Ronwen Williams deserved a move abroad after his stellar performances at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Despite being part of the squad, Goss didn't feature in the tournament, as Williams remained Hugo Broos's preferred choice.
However, Goss was impressed with Williams's contributions to South Africa's bronze medal finish, including crucial penalty saves against Cape Verde and DR Congo.
Williams's efforts earned him both the AFCON Golden Glove and a spot in the tournament's Best XI. Goss feels these accolades and performances should have secured Williams a transfer to a club overseas.

RICARDO GOSS ON BAFANA STAR THAT SHOULD’VE MOVED TO EUROPE AFTER AFCON
“I think we have to wait another 100 years to have another goalkeeper that will be nominated for the Ballon d'Or,” said Goss during the club’s media open day in Durban.
“Look, he had a fantastic AFCON. I think he should’ve gotten an offer abroad.
“There’s a lot you can learn from Ronza, the way he carries himself, the way he plays the game, so relaxed and so calm.
“For me, I feel like he should be overseas considering his performances at AFCON. But at least we’re still playing, meaning we have a chance to learn from him even when we play against him.
“I feel like the more you look at other goalkeepers, the more you can improve your game that, ‘This what I should do’.”
