Has Ouaddou hinted De Jong and Msendami will start against ex-Chiefs coach’s side?

Orlando Pirates are set to play AmaZulu on Tuesday evening in the Premier Soccer League outing, aware that maximum points will open a three-point gap between them and the defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.

However, they will not get it easy against AmaZulu who have been doing quite well in the South African top-tier. Maximum points will put them at the helm of the 16-table team.

To avoid the negative impact of fatigue and possible injuries in the critical departments, the Sea Robbers’ technical team brought on board Andre de Jong from Stellenbosch FC, as well as Daniel Msendami and Mpho Chabatsane, who were plying their trade at Marumo Gallants.

Msendami and De Jong impressed in the 2-0 win over Magesi FC after coming from the bench.

Will the duo start?

Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou was happy with the impact the two players had, which means he might be tempted to start them against AmaZulu, who are coached by former Kaizer Chiefs tactician Arthur Zwane.

“It was part of the plan when you bring in some new players. I think it was the right moment to show them to our fans as well and to give them the opportunity to start in our stadium,” said Ouaddou after the match.

“They did well, it’s not easy to come here in a new team, you have to integrate quickly. I think they did well, the time I gave them, they used it very well.

“For me, it’s a lot of hope for us for the future,” the ex-Morocco international stated.
