Just like a couple of seasons ago, Orlando Pirates seemingly have an upper hand in the race for the Premier Soccer League title.

Currently, the Buccaneers are just three points behind Mamelodi Sundowns, who have accumulated 32 points from the 15 games played. The Sea Robbers are currently third in the log with 29 points from the 13 outings in the South African top-tier dates.

Kaizer Chiefs have been doing quite well as opposed to recent years, explaining why they are second. But just like the defending champions, the Glamour Boys have played 15 games.

However, Orlando Pirates captain Nkosinathi Sibisi has warned those believing the Sea Robbers have a massive advantage to topple Masandawana.

The gap is close this season

The Bafana Bafana centre-back insists they have to ensure they have played their part and do the job on the pitch.

On Sunday, the Sea Robbers host Magesi FC at home, and Sibisi insists it is all about taking one game at a time.

“I think everyone knows that a game in hand doesn’t necessarily guarantee you the points. You still have to play those games against very tough opponents,” he told the media.

“We are not only looking at the top end of the table, but also behind us because the gap is very close this season. For us, it is to take it one game at a time and focus on our next game against Magesi,” Sibisi concluded.
