Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi lauded Pule Mmodi, declaring him the standout performer in their recent match.
Nabi's praise followed Mmodi's goal, the third in Amakhosi's 3-0 victory over Chippa United in the Nedbank Cup Round of 16 clash at FNB Stadium on Saturday.
Despite acknowledging past criticism of Mmodi for missed opportunities, including in the Soweto derby, Nabi highlighted the player's impressive work rate.
The Tunisian coach emphasized Mmodi's valuable contributions to the team in both attack and defense.

NABI HEAPS PRAISE ON PULE MMODI
“Mmodi, what he does on the field, it’s incredible,” said Nabi as quoted by FARPost.
“Sometimes you look at one or two opportunities that he has missed. But he’s a winger. His first attribute is to score goals.
“Maybe he should have scored easy opportunities that he has gotten. But for me, he was the best player on the field [against Chippa].
“He is a player that works consistently, he’s a player that poses a threat on his direct opponent all the time.
“Maybe you would see all the set-pieces or free-kicks that he gets for us. Even when we are defending, he is a player that tracks back all the time.
“He works for the team, he works incredibly very well for the team. And we need to congratulate him. We believe that he was the best player on the field. And he has been one of the best players.”
