The 33-year-old has been doing well for the Sea Robbers, but inspiration to develop in his hometown has come from a different source.
Orlando Pirates star Deon Hotto has revealed he is determined to have a major impact back at home in Namibia the same as Kaizer Chiefs founder Kaizer Motaung.
The latter started Kaizer Eleven upon his return from the US in 1970, which resulted in Kaizer Chiefs, a team with the largest following in South Africa. The Glamour Boys have since employed many people, and helped thousands to nurture their talents.
Despite their struggle to win silverware in the last nine seasons, Amakhosi remain a massive brand in Mzansi.
Hotto determined to emulate the Glamour Boys' founder
Recently, the 33-year-old launched a Deon Hotto Foundation in his hometown Swakopmund, Namibia.
He has since pledged R2 million toward building a sports stadium, which will play a massive role in developing the game in the Southern Africa nation.

“What I'm doing back home is actually something that I got from the big man, Doctor Kaizer Motaung, I've read his story, he was playing in the state when he came back, and he started his small team Kaizer Eleven,” he said as quoted by SABC Sport.
“So, for me it's all about trying to give back to my community. His story inspired me actually so that's what I also want to do.”
How will Pirates cope with a heavy schedule?
In the 2024/25 season, Pirates will be competing in the Premier Soccer League, Nedbank Cup, MTN8, and Carling Knockout.
Internationally, they will be playing in the Caf Champions League and most probably the African Football League. The versatile attacker explains how the Spain tour helped the Soweto giants to be psychologically prepared.
“Yeah, yeah, for sure you could see the games we played now in Spain also,” Hotto continued.
“After two days we were playing a game because that's going to require the same amount of energy when we come back here now because we'll be playing a league game, after a league game, we'll be traveling to Africa, come back again after two, three days then play maybe a Nedbank game.
“So, the coach was trying to force us to play a good amount of minutes.”
Bucs started their domestic season with an MTN8 fixture against SuperSport United, a match they won 3-1 to seal a place in the semi-final.
