Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has offered his perspective and observations on Themba Zwane's playing minutes at Mamelodi Sundowns.
The 35-year-old player made his highly anticipated return to competitive action in April, specifically for Mamelodi Sundowns.
His comeback on the pitch occurred in a Betway Premiership fixture against Richards Bay FC, which took place late in the month.
Broos’ remarks come after the perceived decrease in the midfielder’s regular playing time compared to his prominence under previous coach Rulani Mokwena.
The Portuguese tactician, Cardoso, recently faced fierce criticism for his decision to omit Themba Zwane from the starting lineup in both legs of the CAF Champions League final against Pyramids, a move that raised many eyebrows among fans and pundits alike.
Broos believes Zwane is now “okay” and fully fit to play. He feels there must be an underlying reason why Zwane hasn't been consistently featured in matches despite his readiness.

’THERE MUST BE A REASON WHY HE DIDN’T PLAY’
“I said it before; I think the injury with Themba is okay. But I have to see it. There must be a reason why he didn’t play so much football [for Sundowns],” said Broos.
“But maybe he is physically not in order. I don’t know. But I think the coach knows what he does with Themba. He also knows his qualities and I think if Themba is ready to play a game, I am sure of it he will play. But again, I don’t know the situation.
“I saw Themba two months ago when I visited Sundowns and I had a chat with the coach. At that moment, everything went well, but he was certainly not ready.
“We are two months later now, so I don’t know. But I am sure when Themba is ready, he will play games and certainly he will be ready to play for Bafana Bafana.
