A couple of days ago, the Premier Soccer League outfit Chippa United parted ways with Nigeria international goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.
It was an unexpected end to the involved parties who have worked together for the last four years. During that time, the 29-year-old kept 25 clean sheets in the 76 outings for the Chilli Boys.
Nwabali had been heavily linked with a move to Kaizer Chefs to replace Itumeleng Khune, before Fiacre Ntwari came in two seasons ago.
It is a blow to Chippa United!

Chippa United coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi insists it was a move that has crippled the team in the goalkeeping department.
“It is definitely a blow for us, looking at how Stanley did in Morocco,” Kanu said after the recent Nedbank Cup game against Durban City that ended in the latter’s favour.
“He’s a super keeper, but obviously with his decisions and whatsoever, I’m not involved in that. It was a discussion between him and chairman.
“But they have agreed. I can only work with people who are in the system. But if there’s a need for us to look another goalkeeper so that the competition can be high, we will do so,” Vilakazi concluded.
Nwabali hurt by his exit

“It was tough since yesterday when this decision was made. It’s not really a nice feeling, you know, but football is football because you need to improve and take a step forward,” he opened in his recent interview.
“But like I said, everything is good on our part. This is something we felt was a good decision for us. Parting from the club after four years is not a good feeling because it’s like leaving your home, where you have been with these guys for a long time, with different coaches, the chairman, and players, and now you part ways with the club.
“However, I might say goodbye now, but not forever, you know. I really wish the club and everyone I have met there well. This was a difficult decision to make; it wasn’t nice at all. But there are no hard feelings or anything. This was a mutual agreement that we felt was the best for us. We wish each other well and I am looking forward to my career.
“To be honest with you, there’s no contract offered to me by any team at the moment. As I said, the club and I really understand the decision. In football, your happiness comes first,” Nwabali concluded.
