Kamogelo Sebelebele has had a mixed start at Orlando Pirates, a team he joined in the off-season transfer window from TS Galaxy.

While with the rockets, the 23-year-old played 97 games across all competitionswhere he was featuring either as a full-back or winger. Regardless of the position, Sebelebele managed to score 10 goals and provide six assists for his former team.

At Bucs, he has played 17 games across all competitions and scored three goals in the process. However, after making his Bafana Bafana debut, he suffered a nasty knee injury that contributed to his absence from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

However, some didn’t understand the situation as Sebelebele explains his frustrations.

They don’t understand

“Obviously people talk because it [was] my first injury, so people say you get to Orlando Pirates and you get injured, when you played for TS Galaxy, you didn’t get injuries,” he told Bucs Camp.

“It’s hectic at Orlando Pirates, people are busy with you, some are not happy, things like that. They don’t understand that we play soccer and it’s a contact sport. So, injuries will always be there.

“Not everything has ‘people’ involved. Sometimes we have to be positive, and I don’t like listening to naysayers, because they can potentially bring harm,” Sebelebele concluded.

The winger is now hoping to be part of the Bafana Bafana squad that will compete in the 2026 World Cup, which Canada will co-host alongside the United States and Mexico.
