Orlando Pirates midfielder Thalente Mbatha has revealed how he’s been helping one of the club’s new signings to adapt at the Buccaneers having played with him at their previous club.
The Sea Robbers have made a couple of signings to strengthen the team and Mbatha penned a permanent deal with the club after spending the last season’s second round on loan.
Mbatha swiftly integrated with the team and significantly contributed to their victory in the Nedbank Cup and in securing a position in the CAF Champions League.
During this transfer window, Pirates acquired Selaelo Rasebotja on a free transfer following his departure from Matsatsantsa. He reunited with the likes of Mbatha and Patrick Maswanganyi having played with them at SuperSport.
Mbatha has backed the 23-year-old midfielder to succeed at Pirates, saying has been improving since his arrival at the club.
THALENTE MBATHA ON HELPING NEW SIGNING ADAPT
“I've given him some advice on the system and how we play. I feel like he is getting the hang of it and he is a great player, I can't lie about that.
“He's an exceptional player and I feel like he is still learning and coming into knowing how the team plays and what the coaches want,” Mbatha said to the Siya crew.
“He can make a very good impact once he has gotten the hang of it because he is a great player.”
Rasebotja has yet to feature in an official match this season with the Soweto giants having played MTN8 quarterfinal and CAF Champions League preliminary round first leg.
He was an unused substitute when they drew 0-0 against Disciples FC in the Champions League opener on Sunday afternoon in Mauritius.
