Kaizer Chiefs returned to winning ways with a convincing 2-0 victory over bottom-placed Magesi FC at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday.
Goals from Wandile Duba and substitute Mfundo Vilakazi were enough to seal all three points for the Amakhosi, who now strengthen their bid for a top-three finish in the Betway Premiership.
Chiefs dominated possession throughout the encounter, controlling 66% of the ball while limiting Magesi to half-chances on the break.
The result moves Kaizer Chiefs closer to third-placed Sekhukhune United as they continue to make up ground with games in hand.

For Magesi, the defeat extends a dismal run that has seen them go 13 matches without a win, leaving them firmly anchored at the foot of the table with just 14 points from 21 games.
John Maduka’s men showed flashes of resilience but ultimately lacked the cutting edge to trouble Bruce Bvuma’s goal.
Duba Opens the Scoring as Kaizer Chiefs Dominate First Half
Kaizer Chiefs started the brighter of the two sides, pressing Magesi deep into their own half from the opening whistle.
Dillan Solomons and Glody Lilepo both went close before Wandile Duba broke the deadlock with a clinical finish inside the box.
Magesi threatened briefly through a Luthuli header that drifted just wide and a Vandala free-kick that missed the target, but Chiefs went into the break deservedly ahead.

Vilakazi Seals Victory for Amakhosi in Late Counter-Attack
The introduction of Vilakazi and Gastón Sirino at the hour mark injected fresh energy into Chiefs’ attack.
Vilakazi immediately made an impact with his creative play, setting up Sirino for a chance that the South American fired wide.

The young attacker then took matters into his own hands, finishing coolly with a low right-footed strike from the right side of the box after a swift counter-attack to make it 2-0 and put the game beyond doubt.
The match ended after 11 minutes of stoppage time following numerous fouls throughout the contest.
