Kaizer Chiefs have finally confirmed the departure of coach Nasredidne Nabi and put his assistants in charge until the end of the season.
Nabi agreed to sever ties with Chiefs last month but had not officially parted ways until Friday when the club confirmed his departure, bringing an end to his tenure that lasted 15 months.
“Kaizer Chiefs FC and Head Coach Nasreddine Nabi hereby confirm that, following constructive engagements, they have mutually agreed to conclude their professional relationship on an amicable basis,” Chiefs confirmed through a statement.
The club then announced that coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze, who had been Nabi’s assistants, will take charge of the team for the rest of the season, seeking to continue with the trusted lieutenants of the veteran tactician over starting afresh.
Will Kaze and Ben Youssef succeed at Chiefs?
“Following the announcement earlier today of a mutual parting of ways between Kaizer Chiefs FC and Head Coach Nasreddine Nabi, the Club can confirm that Coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze will lead the technical team for the remainder of the 2025/26 season,” Chiefs confirmed.
Ben Youssef and Kaze have been in charge of the team in their last five matches, managing one win, three draws and a loss, but now, the responsibility of bringing success at Naturena rests on their shoulders.

Nabi joined Chiefs in July 2024 after a one-year stint with Moroccan side AS FAR, and endured a challenging first season, when he managed 33 games, winning 12, drawing eight and losing 13 in all competitions, but won the Nedbank Cup to save himself from the sack and qualify for the Confederation Cup.
He started the 2025-26 season in fantastic fashion after winning four, drawing one and losing another of their six games, all in the league, his final game being the 3-1 loss to Sekhukhune United on September 16.
