Kaizer Chiefs announce triple FNB treat for fans

Kaizer Chiefs fans will have an opportunity to watch three league matches at home on the bounce after the club revealed their fixture plans for the new season.

Chiefs begin their season away to Stellenbosch FC on Sunday with the match set to be played at the Athlone Stadium but after that, the FNB Stadium will play host to three straight Amakhosi fixtures.

The first of the triple treat for Chiefs fans will be their PSL clash against Polokwane City on August 13 as they look to get their revenge after Rise and Shine denied them a place in the top eight following their draw on the final day.

Which other matches are lined up at FNB?

After the Polokwane tie, set to be played under the lights from 19:30, Chiefs will host Richards Bay on August 19, the match also kicking off at 19:30, in what will be Amakhosi’s third game of the season.

The final of the triple home matches will be the blockbuster clash between Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns on August 25, when Nasreddine Nabi’s charges will be tested to the limit.

Chiefs lost home and away to Sundowns in the league last season but had the last laugh as they eliminated the Brazilians from the Nedbank Cup semi-final before going on to win the trophy.

It will be a big test for Nabi’s charges once again with the Sundowns game expected to be a sold-out affair at the FNB Stadium.
