Nevertheless, the Mswenko Boys knew victory would bring them closer to safety and give the player much needed confidence in the remaining fixtures.
Duba saves Bvuma’s first half blunder
As expected, it was the glamour boys who started the game well and did extremely everything in their bid to get an early strike.
However, it was the relegation-threatened Mswenko Boys who broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute. The Soweto giants conceded a free-kick in a dangerous zone, giving Lebohang Lesako an opportunity to play it in.
Bruce Bvuma could have done better in keeping out Mbulelo Wagaba’s effort but he was beaten in his near post.
With three minutes to the break, Orbit College failed to clear the ball in their red zone, allowing Bradley Cross to find Wandile Duba, who did well to guide the ball home and make it 1-1.
Shabalala gets his goal!
Just like the first 45 minutes, the Soweto giants were determined to get three points to surge upwards on the table but Orbit College defended as a unit and hit their opponents with counter attacks.
In the 52nd minute, Wagaba almost capitalised on poor defending by Amakhosi, but his shot narrowly missed the target.

Mduduzi Shabalala, who has been on the receiving end from the supporters for missing chances, had an opportunity to put the ball in the back of the net after 66 minutes, but couldn’t hit the target with the goalkeeper off position. But he made amends barely a minute later as he converted a cross from Thabiso Monyane.
It soon became 3-1 in the 78th minute as Flavio Silva set up Siphesihle Ndlovu for a fine finish. The gool cooled the nerves of the supporters who have been seeing their team drop points from winning positions.
The win took Kaizer Chiefs third with 39 points from 21 games, while Orbit College remain 15th with 18 points after 23 outings.
