Mamelodi Sundowns striker Iqraam Rayners is strongly forcing his way into the plans of Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos ahead of the World Cup with his great form.
Rayners is the PSL’s leading scorer with 11 goals and has 15 in total for Sundowns this season but has been overlooked by Broos, who did not include him in the AFCON 2027 squad as well as the team for two friendly matches against Panama last month.
However, the striker continues to do his talking on the pitch, responding to the recent snub with a beautiful header against Chippa United last Friday, and with Lyle Foster’s form under question, Rayners could find himself part of the World Cup squad if he maintains this form.
Has Adams awoken the beat in Allende?
Former Mamelodi Sundowns star Manqoba Ngwenya believes the reemergence of Jayden Adams has elevated Marcelo Allende’s levels of performance, seeing him add goals to his game.

Allende has scored three goals in his last eight games, including one against Chippa United on Friday, and Ngwenya thinks it is down to playing with Adams that the Chilean is now scoring, something that was initially missing from him.
“I’m very impressed with Adams and I think he is one player who actually got the best out of Allende because, firstly, [Miguel] Cardoso was putting Allende on the bench for Adams. When Allende came from the bench, he started scoring goals which was not part of his game,” he said on SoccerBeat as quoted by FARPost.
“But now, he has brought that into his game. That’s what sets the best midfielders apart. You have to score goals even if you are a midfielder. You have to affect the game by scoring and that’s what Allende did.”
Mothiba giving Cardoso problems and where is Shalulile?

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso says striker Lebo Mothiba is training so well that he is giving him a headache about when to field him while he has also confirmed that Peter Shalulile is injured.
“My problem is that, besides that, I still have Lebo Mothiba, who is training so well. The way he is training is something I have never seen,” said Cardoso as per Sportswire.
“Unfortunately, Peter Shalulile is still injured and not yet ready to return. But that shows we still have quality players out,” added Cardoso, whose team face Durban City on Tuesday.
