Kaizer Chiefs could end the day in third place if they secure maximum points against Orbit College at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Monday afternoon.
Chiefs are looking for a third straight win and a victory would take their tally to 39 points. With third-placed AmaZulu (37 points) facing off with Sekhukhune (34 points) also on Monday, it is the Glamour Boys who could benefit by the end of the day if Usuthu fail to win.
Kenyan star on how Chiefs denied him R13m
Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Anthony Akumu has opened up about how the decision by Amakhosi to release him early denied him an opportunity to boost his bank balance.
Akumu joined Chiefs in January 2020, signing a three-and-a-half-year deal, but was released in June 2022, one year before his contract ended.

The Kenyan midfielder says he was earning Ksh1.5 million (R200,000) per month at Chiefs while he received a huge signing-on fee with his salary increasing by 10% for every six months he was at the club.
However, cutting short his contract denied him a chance to earn a total package of Ksh100 million (R13 million) at Naturena.
“It was good money for the two-and-a-half years that I stayed at the club. I was able to do one or two meaningful things with it,” he told Nation.
Kaizer Chiefs’ biggest advantage against Orbit

Kaizer Chiefs will head to their match against Orbit College feeling refreshed as none of their players were involved in the recent international break.
While Mamelodi Sundowns had seven players and six from Pirates joining Bafana Bafana, Chiefs had a full house at Naturena preparing for their next match, giving the players and coaches ample to time to work on key areas of improvements, which is likely to give them an extra edge in Monday’s clash in Gqeberha.
