Kaizer Chiefs were eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup on Friday evening after falling to Zambian outfit Red Arrows at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
The Glamour Boys won 1-0 in regulation time to bring the aggregate score to 1-1, before falling 3-2 on penalties. As a result, their visitors will now advance to the group stage of Africa’s annual competition.
It was an unexpected ending for the club as chances went begging in a fixture they dominated.

Serves us right. I am glad we are out. Don’t want false hopes. Now it’s up to you KC management to see what you do with this deadwood and clueless technical team – Kay Gee
I’m not surprised; the most disappointing part is the players and the management’s lack of respect, professionalism and passion for their team – Lesley Lesley
We have world-class facilities at Naturena, yet we don’t seem to be making the most of them. Our players are lacking even the most basic football techniques, which is unacceptable at this level. It is becoming increasingly evident that the problem lies in the quality of coaching – Vhakhoni Major
We really had no business losing this game, there were way too many chances created in the game for us to end up with such a result – Black Diamond
We should have won 3-0 from open play. Our players are not serious. Keep Da Cruz and get quality players not this nonsense we are playing with – T Dee
It has nothing to do with the coach!
Others believe coach Fernando Da Cruz should not be blamed at all for the result since the players in the team have no quality to deliver.

This has nothing to do with the coach but the players. Mduduzi Tshabalala missed so many one on ones and we blame the coach! Good performance but we should not be in penalties if chances were taken. Also management please buy us quality players – Thapelo
Kaizer Chiefs have brought shame to South African football. Thanks to the Motaung’s family – Chris
There was definitely more heart in Friday’s performance. We just lacked a killer instinct, which can be confidence based. Hard luck in penalties! I’d rather lose like this than with an ultra-defensive team – Motlatjo Rakgotho
A well deserved loss indeed, we don’t deserve to win anything with that kind of play. Dominate the whole game but not look dangerous at all. Our players are just playing for vibes and salaries no intelligence at all – Kabelo Dick
The difference between Kaizer Chiefs and Manchester United is their names – Bibo Wekhosi
