As a reward for clinching their first-ever DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) title with a record-breaking 70 points last season, the Kaizer Chiefs reserves are preparing for an exciting 11-day DDC International Tour, running from 25 November to 7 December 2025.
Backed by the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and Multichoice, the young Amakhosi will embark on a journey that includes visits to the academies of Manchester United and Liverpool, where they will gain invaluable lessons through knowledge-sharing with their British counterparts.
A special highlight of the trip will be attending the Premier League clash between Leeds United and Chelsea at Elland Road on 3 December, a venue forever linked to former Chiefs legend Lucas Radebe, who remains an icon among Leeds supporters.
Although the tour was initially postponed earlier this year, Chiefs’ triumph in the DDC — marked by discipline and quality — has now secured their rightful place on the global stage. The squad will also compete against top CPL clubs in the prestigious Next Gen Cup.
Club Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr emphasized the significance of the opportunity:
“It’s good for the brand, and it’s even better for the youngsters. These are the players who will carry our badge into the future. Global exposure, travel experience, and facing top international opposition all form part of our bigger journey into the continent.”
He added that excitement within the camp is palpable:
“Our captain says the squad is buzzing. For many, this will be their first time overseas — and playing against Manchester United, QPR, and Leeds United is a phenomenal milestone in their careers.”
Motaung concluded with a rallying message:
“The objectives are clear: represent Africa with pride and continue raising the standard of youth football. One Team. One Africa. One Youth. We are incredibly proud of our rising stars and can’t wait to see them shine.”
