‘I am not a magician!’ Kaizer Chiefs coach Da Cruz responds to Bobby Motaung’s

Kaizer Chiefs Football Manager Bobby Motaung recently revealed the targets set for coach Fernando Da Cruz this season.

Amakhosi appointed Da Cruz to succeed co-coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef who served the Soweto giants following the early exit of Nasreddine Nabi.

“The new coach obviously knows he has to win the league, he has to win cups, he has to bring the glory days back. He must enjoy his work with the support that we are giving him with the players and everybody,” Motaung made it clear.

“In football, you never stop thinking of any new signings. In football, you are always looking for the best. If you get the best in the market, you get it, and if you can afford it and there is space for them and the coach needs them, we will always support,” he further added regarding the club’s plans in the transfer window.

In his address to the media, Da Cruz has insisted Chiefs will give their best on the pitch, but explained why things can’t happen all of a sudden.

“I’m not a magician like a reporter. I cannot say what we will achieve, but the most important thing for us is to keep the mentality of working and listening,” he stated.

“Like I already said, we will make a conclusion. If we are in a good position, we’ll try to achieve as best as we can. We are very ambitious, but our first ambition is always to win the next game.”

On Sunday, the Glamour Boys will be at Dobsonville Stadium hosting Siwelele in the Premier Soccer League outing. Currently, Amakhosi are third on the table with eight points from four games, five less than Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, who have 13 points each from five outings.
