‘Kaizer Chiefs forgive Broos, Petersen must be fined! Sundowns were absent, weakest team’

Published on by

Kaizer Chiefs threw away a 1-0 lead to draw 1-1 with Mamelodi Sundowns in the Premier Soccer League game on Saturday afternoon at the FNB Stadium.

After Langelihle Phili had beaten Ronwen Williams, Brandon Petersen was arguably to blame for Cassius Mailula’s equaliser. The custodian came off his position in an attempt to parry the ball, but Mailula beat him to it.

A section of the Glamour Boys supporters is unhappy with their captain, while others have lauded the team’s improvement. Have a look at their reactions as sampled by Afrik-Foot.

Schoolboy errors can’t be tolerated

Petersen, as a captain, must be fined for costing us two crucial games. Such schoolboy errors can’t be tolerated. It’s demoralizing the team. He must  focus – Boikanyo

On behalf of all Kaizer Chiefs fans, we forgive Hugo Broos. He was correct for not selecting Petersen – Schwarzenegger Cawuke

Chiefs are being coached! Well-improved team. Let’s get a striker and another speedy winger. We can’t blame Petersen; our defenders were just standing, hence why he came out. Unfortunately, it was late – Emmanuel Mogende

Peterson made a mistake, yes, but let’s improve, fix our mistakes, and  get better for the next game – Music Wiz

We need a good contract lawyer for Mmodi. This guy appears to have signed a guaranteed playing time clause; last season he was fielded in 90% of the games, even when he was playing badly – Louis

Sell Chislett immediately

We stopped attacking after the substitution of Langelihle Phili; otherwise, we take a point and move on – Caven

Great game plan from the coach; he knows the ball, but the Phili sub was a mistake. Mudau was afraid to go forward because of Phili. Phili took out almost two players with him every time. After coming off, Sundowns overloaded the left side. Also, Brandon Peterson should be careful – Thabang

Sundowns were absent today. We should have beaten them with their 2 stars. Performance was very good; results were average – Abuti

What an unnecessary draw. This is the weakest Sundowns we’ve ever played in recent years, and we still couldn’t beat them? The way we conceded really hurts. Petersen really cost us big time, and replacing Phili was also a bad idea. No Mfundo Vilakazi or Mduduzi Shabalala in a game like this is also bullsh*t, but hey, it’s your team – Spoekeya

I’ve seen enough. Sell Ethan Chislett immediately and fire whoever suggested he was a good signing.  You guys are toying with us with these types of signings. He offered zero in attack, zero – Thiago
