Kaizer Chiefs are set to play Golden Arrows on Sunday in a Premier Soccer League fixture at Mbombela Stadium.

Amakhosi enter the match having won only one of their last four games, with three draws and a win, which is why they need maximum points. The Soweto giants are currently placed fourth on the table with 12 points, with Mamelodi Sundowns on top with 20 points having played two more games.

Traditional rivals and defending champions Orlando Pirates come second with 16 points from six outings, while AmaZulu have 13.

Prior to the fixture, the Glamour Boys confirmed they will have to do without their captain Brandon Petersen and influential striker Wandile Duba.

Bafana Bafana international Thabo Moloisane is confident that Bruce Bvuma and Renaldo Leaner will effectively replace the skipper who is set to miss action for at least six weeks.

“Firstly, I just wish for Biza for him to get well soon, and secondly, I think in the goalkeeping department we have capable guys; Bruce [Bvuma] is there, Renaldo [Leaner] is there as well. So, we are not panicking at all,” he added. 

“One goal is to make sure that the team wins and to make sure that we support one another. So, we are definitely not panicking at all; everyone is just as capable as the other,” he added.

Chiefs have to get three points!

Moloisane has further insisted Amakhosi have to dig deep and ensure they secure maximum points against Arrows. The two teams met a couple of weeks ago in the MTN8 quarter-final, where Chiefs fell by a solitary goal.

“It’s gonna be extremely important for us to get three points, we’ve played two draws in games that we should have won and especially now that we are going to the FIFA break. 

“It will be extremely important for us to continue the FIFA break with three points and it will take a bit of pressure off our shoulders knowing that we are keeping up with the teams that are on top of the league,” Moloisane concluded.
